AN EVENING OF INTRODUCTION TO WINE AND ITS EVALUATION
Tuesday 22nd June - Canary Wharf E14
6.30pm - 8.45pm
This event is aimed at the absolute wine beginner but has also been found to be equally useful to those who have some experience.
Many wine enthusiasts have a favourite wine or preferred wine style; yet don't understand what it is that provides that preference. Often, this eventually leads to a rut with the inevitable tendency to stick to a limited safety zone mindset when shopping for wine.
A chance then to broaden your horizons. A little knowledge gained travels a long way?
In conjunction with the tasting of some excellent wines on the night, learn how the human senses can be used in a structured order, to evaluate wine. To help with this process, we will look at grape composition and basic wine making practices, factors that play a large part in determining the style of a wine.
A structured event yes but it will be a relaxed and informal occasion. Essentially, wine should be fun and enjoyable, so this is very much the manner in which we will proceed.
£30. Includes full tuition, all wine samples and provision of glasses for use on the night. Tickets are available via the contact page on Chris’s web site or call him for more information on 07796 690884. Email at christopherrawlings@btopenworld.com
