Course Content
The course covers in much more detail than the level 2, the global wine industry, focussing on many wine producing countries and their regions within. One of the main aims is to guide the student to become fully familiar and understand the myriad of different wine styles from around the globe. This will involve detailed study of regions; grape varieties used, growing techniques, climate and microclimates, local soils, aspect and wine making practices.
All types and styles of wine will be covered, including fortified and sparkling wines. Potential students should be aware that this level requires considerable home study.
We recommend at least 56 hours over the course duration.

Examination
The examination will comprise of 50 multiple-choice questions
4 Short written answers from 4 set questions
A written assessment of one wine tasted blind, using the systematic approach.
Students who pass the course will receive a WSET certificate

- 80% + = pass with distinction (aggregate score over all 3 papers)
