Go Live
The go-live date should be chosen carefully. Many companies in a fixed reporting cycle choose a yea end. This coincides with the normal catch up and tidy up cycle normally required for published financial accounts and audits.
Changing mid term can create extra work around the management accounts design and preparation.
You may wish to consider informing staff of their responsibilities at the go-live date. Often a weekend is involved and staff may need to be prepared for this.
All the take on data tables should be tested into a ‘test’ company to ensure everything is working. Ideally this should take place a full month in advance of go-live, leaving a month for thorough testing in a test company.
Post-Live Evaluation
Have all the objectives been achieved? If not, what is the resolution? Are management and staff aware of there unfinished tasks? Does the Implementation Team continue to meet?
