Ráidu – Encounter the reindeer

This trip will teach you a lot about the indigenous Sámi culture. With snowmobile and sleds you will take a short ride out to the camp. You will go into the enclosures and have the opportunity to feed the reindeer. They will curiously come and eat out of your hand. Our guide will tell you about the reindeer and give you a deeper insight in the Sámi lifestyle. Afterwards it is time to try to drive with your own reindeer sled around a short track in the forest. Inside the Sámi tent you will be served coffee/tea with sandwich. On the way back you will visit our Sámi handicraft shop and outdoor museum.

Vuoján - Reindeer sled excursion

The Sámi people have been using reindeer and sleds for transportation of people and equipment for hundred of years. Join us on this tour and take the opportunity to drive and handle your own reindeer sled. The tour follows a trail through the snow-clad forest landscape. After 1½ - 2 hours driving we return to Reindeer Lodge where we let the reindeers go into the enclosures. The guide will prepare lunch in a wooden Sámi hut and after the lunch we return towards Jukkasjärvi village.

Price: SEK 1 990 per person, SEK 1 390 per child (8-15 years)

Reindeer sled winter adventure

Drive and handle your own reindeer sled through the snowy and pristine forests above the Arctic Circle. This adventure is guided by a reindeer herder who is expert on the environment, the Sámi culture and hospitality. Going silently trough the landscape gives you plenty of time to discover and look for wildlife. Accommodation will be one night in a common stove-equipped Sámi tent and two nights in comfortable cabins at Reindeer Lodge. The last day we visit the world famous Icehotel in the village of Jukkasjärvi

Reindeer sled mountain expedition - 8 days

To caravan with reindeer and sled in Sápmi across the tundra and through deep mountain valleys in mainly untracked terrain is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You take care of your reindeer that will be your travel companion for a week. Whilst standing on the sled we have the chance to sop now and then in order to enjoy the vastness and stillness of this harsh and breath-taking area. Ice fishing. Accommodation will be in a Sámi tent that we will put up in the evening at our campsites. Some nights will also be spent in reindeer herding cabins.

Price: SEK 31 500 per person
