Sámi Siida

Sámi visitors centre with reindeer:

Visitor centre outdoors with reindeer and information about the Sámi - one of the worlds indigenous people. We have a Sámi camp with turf huts, store houses, storage stands from the nomadic life. You can also meet our reindeer and visit them inside the corral. Learn more about the reindeer, how reindeer herding is done, feed the reindeer and try throwing the lasso at reindeer horns.  

 

Exhibitions:

In the visitor we have exhibitions about the nomadic life and the Sámi history. You also get to learn more about Sámi craftwork and the Sámi religion.

 

Sámi handicraft shop and reception for booking:

In the handicraft shop you can buy both traditional and modern Sámi handicraft and souvenirs. You can even drink a cup of coffee and get informed about and book our tours or accommodation.   

Winterseason:

 

Open: Daily 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. 5 Dec 2011 - 9 Apr 2012. (24 Dec - closed)

Entrance to the visitor centre: SEK 150 per adult, SEK 100 per student (with id), SEK 75 per child (7-12 years). No entrance fee to the shop.

Clothing: Remember warm winter clothing and shoes to enjoy your visit to the visitor centre with reindeer.

Summer season:

Open: Daily 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. 28 May - 31 Aug 2012. 

Guided tours: Daily at 10.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. 

Entrance: SEK 100 per adult, SEK 80 per student (with id), SEK 50 per child (7-15 years), 1 child free per paying adult. No entrance fee to the handicraft shop and café.  

Café: During summer we also have open our café in the big Sámi tent.
