Walks and trekking tours in the mountain areas around the valley of Innvik
The local road through the fields of Langvin continues past the farms up in the hills, with a spectacular view of the fjord and the mountains. You may continue by car on the toll road to the mountain valley of Innvik. Distance from the main road is approximately 7 kilometers.
Formerly most farmers had their milkcows trodding up to small summer farms in the mountains, to take advantage of the rich pastures during the summer months.
The old houses still exist, now used as holiday cottages, along with new ones. The Innvik valley is lovely situated and is a good starting point for shorter walks, and for trekking tours in the mountains.
The two cabins at Langvin's summer stead are simply furnished and equipped, without electricity and water, like all the others in the area. Water must be brought in buckets from the small, nearby stream.
Borgstova :
The old cabin was originally built in 1759, the same year as the old vicarage. It was later taken down and rebuilt on the mountain farm.
The cabin is not equipped for overnight stays. With seating for appr. 20 people, it is mostly used for lunchbreaks and gatherings in connection with organized, guided group tours.
The cabin:
Small cabin with two bedrooms and one lounge, simply equipped for overnight stay for 5-6 persons.
