Smart Cushions® may be placed almost anywhere within the planter where the roots of the plant will have access.
A very convenient and novel way for water storage is to place the Smart Cushion® upright within the container, as shown on the illustration to the right. As the plant grows, the roots can penetrate the cushion.
It is then a very simple matter to feel the edge of the Smart Cushion® to see is it is still charged with water. If it feels dry, the recommened quantity of water should be added, together with an occasional plant feed as desired.
