Smart Tech Ltd has invented and manufactures a new unique class of water storing material called Happiroot® which can store water in a solid form. This new water storing material can be used to reduce plant loss and to save money and water.
Currently Smart Tech Ltd have a range of three products based on the Happiroot® material, the Smart Cushion® for Interior and Exterior landscape displays, the Smart Slice® for the household gardener and the Smart Reservoir® for the Civic Landscape market.
All three products are based on the company tenets of economy, simplicity and water conservation.
The Smart Cushion® is a product which, using Happiroot® granules to store water is placed at the plant’s roots during potting up and can be used to store from 500ml up to 15 litres of water for table top displays, troughs, window boxes or any plant up to young trees and tropical specimen displays. Since the Smart Cushion® launch in late 2006 Smart Tech Ltd has helped increase the profitability of several companies in the UK, Ireland and France and are always on the lookout for new partnerships or distributors.
The Smart Slice® launched in 2007 is a porous disc of Happiroot® material which swells dramatically when placed in water. The swollen disc can then be placed under the pot of a houseplant, it can also be potted up into a hanging basket to help supply flowering plants with a supply of water to keep blooms looking vibrant and giving the amateur gardener stunning flowering displays. The Smart Reservoir® is a new product which can be used to water high water demand outdoor floral and greenery plant displays such as civic hanging baskets, roadside and precinct troughs and planters. The particulate water storing material based on Smart Tech® Happiroot® technology encased in a biodegradable bag may be potted up at the plants roots it will provide water for extended periods and also trap any rain water to keep those displays looking fantastic over the busy and difficult spring and summer months. The Smart Reservoir® has been designed so that once the flowering season is over the material can be recovered and recycled by adding to the compost.
