Full Tang Knives

Bird & Trout
My Bird & Trout knife is designed mainly for cleaning trout, small game and birds, but may also make a great caping knife for large game. This type of knife has been around for at least 100 years, and the secret to its enduring popularity is the slim profile and small size that makes it a perfect choice for working in tight places or making small precise cuts. Personally I have found it a great companion when flyfishing or hunting small game.

Prototype Wharncliffe
The Wharncliffe blade design is originally attributed to the design of Lord Wharncliffe who was the patron of Joseph Rodgers & Sons in Sheffield, England in the early 1800s. The design was most likely made around 1832, and was originally a folding knife design. According to tradition Lord Wharncliffe apparently wanted a small pocket knife with a thick strong blade. The result was a knife that was not only a small fine whittling knife, but one that could be used for hard work without danger of it breaking - a real wood splitter. The arched back spine adds to its strength, and once you have handled a knife with a real Wharncliffe blade, then you will appreciate the meaning of this. However, a Wharncliffe blade is still somewhat unusual and not to everyones likening. Either you like them, or you don't - simple as that.
