Chicago Short Film Festival

 

 

Rules and Regulations:

  1. Every films of up to 30 minutes long can register in the Chicago Short Film Festival.
  2. No work or artist will be either discriminated or favored by their country of origin, language, age, race, education, ideology, or by their economic resources. Every content, every form, every technique will be admitted with no censorship of any kind.
  3. The films will have to appear in its original language, no subtitles are required. However, subtitled films will be accepted, especially if its language is other than English.
  4. For equality of opportunities, whichever the original format (film, analogical video, digital video, animation), all the films will be evaluated in the same official digital format. The technical provider of the Annual Program Without Frontiers will process the movies for converting them to the approved format, and will upload the digital copies to the Festival server for evaluation.
  5. Films may be sent by Internet, in several digital formats, or if a film can be displayed from the Internet, simply can be sent the link. Also, there is a DVD, CD-ROM, miniDVCAM, miniDV or VHS submission option, to the technical provider address.
  6. As a first stage, all the films will be displayed by the Committee of Art of the Program to consider its possible invitation to other events. The Committee of Art can also determine Special Mentions.
  7. At last, the Jury of the Festival will award the following Categories: screenplay, direction, actor and actress performances, art, photography, editing, and integral realization. In addition to the Prizes by Category, the Jury will grant the Special Prize to the Best Short Film.
  8. The Awards will be announced by Internet and distributed by International Press Media. Prizes, the Festival and the Program must be mentioned in all public display and promotion material of the films awarded.
  9. The Committee of Art reserves the right to select and to invite any of the films registered, to the Annual International Screening or other events and media.
  10. Announcement of the Awards is scheduled for November 30, 2008. In order to participate in the Festival, films bear an entry fee of USD 20.
  11. Late deadline for registration is July 31st, 2008.
  12. Participation in the Chicago Short Film Festival implies the acceptance of these Rules and Regulations.

On pressing the "Next" button, the data of the Film are memorized by the system, and to validate the registration, the screen will display the form of payment by credit card for the Entry Fee of USD 20. This order will be processed by Verisign, the leading Secure Payment Company, and confirmed in seconds. You can choose other forms of payment too.
Once completed the registration, you will be invited to visit a special web-site for film submission. In addition, we?ll exchange detailed information about the movie and the people who work in the realization, because the Committee of Art and the Jury will need this data.
Then we?ll be in contact regarding all the activities of the Festival and the Program.
