Roxana Ukmar Santamaría developes many activities regarding cinema
in Punta del Este, Uruguay. She was the main coordinator of the Punta del Este International
Short Film Festival, organized by MalCine on the editions from 2002 to 2009,
and is currently working for the next edition. Roxana has a degree in Arquitecture and has made many seminars
on arts and culture, like "Políticas transversales de Cultura, Ambiente y Turismo" organized by UNESCO in 2008, at Punta del Este. She produced and coordinated
the First National Film Display in Punta del Este on July 2007 and is the
Uruguayan co-producer for the Documentary Cycle "Las partes del todo" in
Canal (a) Television. Roxana has also been the winner of "Fondos Concursables Pro Cultlura" by
"MalCine Itinerante" and winner of the "Licitación Pública del XI Festival de Cine

Javier Balaguer
He started his professional career as a fashion and press photographer,
and producing music videos. In 1984 he began his cinematographic
career as a production chief, location chief and second assistant director.
At that time he work with Carlos Saura in "El Dorado"; with Terry Gilliam in
"Las aventuras del Baron Munchausen; with Steven Spielberg at the
second part of "Indiana Jones"; and with Richard Lester in
"El regreso de los Mosqueteros".
In 1990 he became first assistant director, working with directors such as
Manuel Gomez Pereira, Gonzalo Suarez and Pilar Miro.
In 2001, he directed his first feature film, "Solo mia", the first film in Spain
to address the subject of gender violence. Starring Sergi Lopez and Paz Vega,
"Solo mia" was selected for competition at the Valladolid Film Festival and
had four nominations for the Goya Awards.
In 2004 he directed the feature film "Escuela de Seducción", with Victoria Abril
and Javier Veiga.
His documentary film "Oriundos de la Noche" received the Special Prize to the
Best Documentary Film at the 2008 Philadelphia Documentary & Fiction Festival. | |
International Jury Member Santiago "BOU" Grasso
Born 1979 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He obtained a "Designer in Visual Communication" degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts, National University of La Plata (UNLP). With his animated shorts he has received over 86 prizes at film festivals around the world, acheaving over 150 official selections. Illustrator, animator and comic book artist. He worked in web design and as a freelance illustrator. As animator, he has participated in several animated feature-film productions, both argentine and international. In 2007 he won a bursary from the National Fund for the Arts (Fondo Nacional de las Artes) to create an animation short film "El Empleo". In 2009 he received another grant for his project "Padre", currently in production. He currently lives in the Argentinean Patagonia, working as a freelance illustrator and making independent animation. | |

Allan Ribeiro
Allan Ribeiro was born in 1979, in Rio de Janeiro / Brazil. In 2006, graduated in Cinema in Universidade Federal Fluminense. He has directed six short film that have won over 30 awards on national
and international festivals. His film, "O Brilho dos meus olhos", received
the Annual Program Without Frontiers award at the 2008 Punta del Este International
Film Festival, where it also won the prize for Best Short Film.
It also won the Best Screenplay award at the 2008 Short Film Festival of Los Angeles, among many others.
