Conformists is a story about losing control. It questions why we behave the way we do and how sometimes it is impossible to free one's self from intense feelings of hate and jealousy. It is about the inner voice inside us all, the one that holds prejudice and tells us a person is despicable.
Best Integral Realization
Great use of sound with extremely artistic images of nature capturing light in an amazingly creative way. Excellent use of color, cinematography, composition, sound and movement.

NAKBA: arabic word meaning "disaster".
It describes the most tragic event in the history of Palestinian people, driven from their land during the creation of the state of Israel in 1948.

A haunting tale of forgiveness and redemption. A Serbian soldier tormented by grief and guilt after witnessing the death of innocent Albanians in Kosovo is forced to revisit his worst nightmare when a beautiful girl conjures a ghost from the past.
Best Photography, Silvano Plank
Creative use of camera angles and points of view. Good nite time cinematography, and outdoor scenic imagery. The footage in the Casino is great and believable.

This is the story of a very rich but bored woman, who hates anybody that is living on the fringe of society. Unexpectedly, she loses her financial security and is forced to do things she never thought she would.
Best Art Direction, MĒ Angeles Gonzalez
Very good use of close ups and varied camera angles. The creative soundtrack utilizing mostly car drive bys is very clever and works within the story and preludes the end of the film. This is re inforced with the wedding ring and the car tire.

Although there are no subtitles, the story can be somewhat understood thru the creative use of editing, montage and the way in which the film is contructed.

The Black & white 35mm film, "Awakening of a shep" is a tragic-comedy exploring a men's social breakdown. Tired of permanent frustrations, he finds himself taking a vain revenge on the people he assumes responsible of his misfortune.

A risky choise in acting that is well resolved and achieved.

A wife's assumed infidelity and a killer's bout of conscience, lead to a husband's vengeance, a romantic interlude and a hit man's untimely demise, in this homage to Italian sex comedies.

This is story of a woman who faces up to a terrible reality. The man who was supposed to love her is the man who tries to cut back all her self-esteem and freedom, the same as a bonsai branches can be cut back because of his owner's whim.

Alex and Brad, two orphans, live on the road in their car. Alex  has a job in a Diner and Brad lives on a cusp of a drug addiction. Alex wants to send him to a rehab, but Brad wants to celebrate their dead mothers birthday.
