UCL use yellow Bio-bin®
The Bio-bin® is now being used in the Biosciences Division of University College London. Lab Manager Sandra Codlin and her staff in the Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment have recently begun using the 2, 5 and 6 litre yellow Bio-bin® and have found them ideal for bench-top use for disposal of items such as pipette tips. The department is also keen to use the 30 litre Bio-bin® when it becomes available.

LSTM labs trial Bio-bin®
Thanks to the help of Fisher Scientific Territory Manager, Rebecca Robertson, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine is using the 1 and 6 litre Bio-bin® in their research labs. Lab managers in the School’s Centre for Tropical and Infectious Diseases have found that the smaller 1 litre is ideal for bench-top use whilst the 6 litre Bio-bin® is a user-friendly disposal option for their serological pipettes. LSTM staff are now able to purchase the Bio-bin® through the School’s intranet system, and many are making cost savings as well as conserving valuable storage space in their labs.
Calderdale and Huddersfield labs use 5 litre yellow
Microbiology Lab Manager John Hardy at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and his staff are now using the 5 litre yellow Bio-bin® in their labs after the Trust recently placed an order for several thousand of them. Staff in the Pathology department at Calderdale Royal Hospital are also using the yellow Bio-bin® and will be able to take advantage of the new stock brought in to its sister site in Huddersfield.
