Anxiety

Most of us have our worries. Life is filled with things which can make us anxious. On the other hand, constant anxiety drains your energy and can prevent you living the life you want to lead. Anxiety can be associated with panic attacks, which can cause real distress to the sufferer.

Anxiety is a fear or dread that something bad will happen to you in the future. The thing you fear may be quite specifc, or rather general. In any case, anxiety and panic attacks have an unpleasant way of growing. The fear can become more intense, and be associated with more situations. Panic attacks can become worse and more frequent.

Anxiety can be treated effectively with hypnosis. A typical treatment plan would include:

  • Teaching you techniques which will help you to regain control during a control panic attack,
  • A technique known as "Systematic Desensitization" where you build up your ability to confront your fear,
  • Opportunities to experience ("inside your head") resisting and winning,
  • Therapy to increase your confidence in your ability to cope.

All of these will increase your ability to tackle your anxiety, and enable you to start to "push back" and regain control.

Remember, your objective need not be to totally lose your anxiety. You can aim to gain control over your anxiety, so that it no longer dictates how you live.
