A few tips for new hostellers, parents, guardians, group leaders and the rest of you intrepid travellers.

• Journeys often take a little longer than you expect in Ireland - it's spooky but true. 
• Don't spend your holiday travelling, instead make the journey part of your holiday.
• Spend more than one day at a destination - it is much better on your purse and the environment.
• Join the AA or other motoring organisation.
• When you have finished packing your bags for the trip, stop! take your bags and empty the contents onto your bed - you can often manage with 50% less than originally packed and will enjoy the journey more without the excess baggage.
• A change of shoes and a pair of slippers is a great idea.
• Cape Clear Hostel is a marvellous place to unwind and is only a few yards away from the pebble beach.
• You can borrow one of our fishing rods and go fishing, or go with Richie when he goes.
• You could swim, snorkel, or kayak within view of the hostel.
• You could walk the hills and be stunned by the amazing views.
• Round it all of with a trip to one or three of the local pubs.
• We meet our guests as they arrive and can vouch for how relaxed they become when they allow time to unwind.
