Synopsis of the Film: In 1976 Argentina suffered a military coup.  General Videla's cruel and violently oppressive junta remained in power for 7 years.  During that time, 30,000 citizens, mostly students and unionists, were silently and systematically erased from existence.  They became known as "los desaparecidos", the disappeared.  Relatives desperately sought for news of their people through enquiries to the police, the military, the hospitals; but the dictatorship had enforced a reign of fear and darkness.  These facts were the basis for the creation of the movement "Mothers of the May Square", who demonstrated every Thursday demanding to know what had become of their children, and later the "Grandmothers of the May Square" who are continuing the search.  Missing children were "adopted" by members of the military regime who used to abduct pregnant women, take the babies as soon as they were born, and kill the mothers.  The ongoing search for the missing children continues until today.  Thirty years later, this dark page of Argentinean history is brought back to focus.  The country's current democratic government, the Argentinean citizens and various organizations are demanding vindication, punishment of the culprits, recognition and honor of the memory of all those people who perished so unjustly.  By many, it is considered genocide.
