Synopsis of the Film: A young Ethiopian woman runs away from her tyrannic father in order to join her lover in Antarctica. The plan doesn't work out and she lands up in the unknown city of Bombay, India, with no money. Slowly she dispossesses herself from her belongingsto find a way out, until sacrificing her whole self. It's about a princess with no kingdom, a soul seeking for a fitting space. The first story inspiration was the popular Indian saying: "Soanaey koh kasauti peuhr jaanchaa jaataa hai" (Gold is tested on the black testing stone).
Bio-filmography of the Director: Pierre was born in 1986 in the city of Mulhouse, France, situated near the borders of Germany and Switzerland. A long-standing aspiration to attend The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII, Pune) came true. Brought up with a belief in the transcendence of borders and language as the only demarcation, he was initiated by a mother who is a painter, into the world of images. This resulted in a passion for cinema and painting which manifested itself very early in life. While taking his graduation in General Litterature and Cinema in the city of Munster he also did a brief stint of exploring and studying jazz music. He currently resides in Johannesburg, South Africa.
