Synopsis of the Film: Vancouver's Downtown Eastside is Canada's poorest neighborhood. It is home to thousands of drug addicts, prostitutes, and the mentally ill. "Wastings & Pain" was originally filmed by amateur cameraman K.R.T. on a consumer quality DSLR camera. With no budget and zero crew K.R.T. filmed several hours of longtime homeless drug addicts Ken and Lisa. This seemingly random footage was shared with Josh Laner who found a story of human beings trying to connect in an area where no one seems connected to much of anything. This is the story of one summer spent with Ken and Lisa and their parade of friends, visitors, and vagrants to a back alley in Vancouver, British Columbia.
This is Josh Laner's first film.

Bio-filmography of the Director: directing debut.
