Tony Harris, 38, from Mountsorrel, is service manager for Advanced Machinery Services, based in Green Lane Road, Leicester. He drives a VW Passat 1.9 TDI.Here are his views on the week's hot topics.
Q Should the police and security services be given more powers to gather phone and e-mail data from members of the public?
A No - it's an invasion of personal privacy. The vast majority of the general public are law-abiding, but let's face it, the Americans have been doing it for years. There's no way the UK's policing forces are going to miss out on chances like this.
Q The United States presidential election campaign is getting much coverage in the British media - are you interested?
A Sorry, but I would sooner watch a coat of wet paint dry. I think Barack Obama is the clear favourite over John McCain, by a long way.
Q What are your feelings on the Government injecting billions of pounds of taxpayers' money in shoring up banks?
A Does that make me a shareholder, then? Am I likely to see some dividends in the not-too-distant future?
Q EU leaders have met to discuss climate change. Should we be doing more in Britain to protect the environment?
A I am concerned for the welfare of our planet. However, I feel we are far more aware of these issues in this country. More change is needed in America and the Far East.
Q Using the internet helps boost brain power and decision-making in middle-aged and older people, a study says. Do you agree?
A What a fantastic tool the internet is - I use it every day at home and at work for at least a couple of hours a day!
Q All residential areas of Leicester are to become 20mph zones to cut traffic accidents. Is this needed?
A It's a good idea. In general, I think we drive far too quickly on our roads but I'm afraid as vehicles evolve, they naturally become quicker so we need to combat this in particular.
