About the campaign
Visit the website http://www.historymatters.org.uk/output/Page1.asp
History Matters - pass it on is all about raising awareness of the importance of history in our everyday lives and encouraging involvement in heritage in England and Wales.
The goal is to build public support and interest in looking after our history and heritage - today and in the future.
Earth and Space Mobile dome can support schools to organise a local history or natural history event. The dome can come to the school before a visit to a National Trust house to explain the history on a black out screen. Presentations are designed together with the school. Normal day rates are reduced, ask for a quote.
From the 'History Matters' website here are details and ideas on organising an event.
''Organise your own event''
''Whether you join the history-awareness effort by making a planned event your History Matters focus, or by staging a special event, the campaign will supply free merchandise, including posters, badges and postcards for collecting views. As part of your specially planned activities, you could:
- Create a History Matters heritage trail, bike ride or guided walk
- Offer taster days encouraging people to get involved with conservation or promoting specific heritage skills
- If you work with schools, you might want to run a History Matters event encouraging young people to think about the past. Event Pack ''
