2006 NBA Playoff All Attractive Team
Well, this has certainly been an interesting year for the All Attractive Teams. The Grizz are no longer the hottest team in the NBA, and until the Utah Jazz find the time to get off their butts and actually win games (assuming they keep the same roster) their won't be a dominant powerhouse for a while. The 2006 edition keeps a few familiar faces from previous incarnations, while at the same time, bringing in some fresh meat... er talent to the table.
Compiling the list is always a pleasure. It involves watching a lot of basketball (which I like to do anyway) and then keeping an eye out for attractive players. All in a day's work. I look forward to the 2007 edition. Long Live Shane Battier!

Shane Battier #31 | Small Forward | Memphis Grizzlies
Height: 6-8 Weight: 220 Born: Sep 9, 1978 - Birmingham, Michigan College: Duke Draft: 2001 - 1st round (6th pick) by the Memphis Grizzlies
What can I say about Shane that I haven't said before? Shane has that "awe" factor. Whenever I catch him (in photos, on tv, outside his house-- what? wait that one's not right at all!), I just can't help but sigh... awe. But, it's a... shame that i don't see ... Shane on tv oll that much becaues TNT and ESPN don't seem to see the need for fulfilling a hotness quota. But hey, all those losers on the Sixers - let's give them a ton of screen time. I would like to say that thanks to the playoffs, I have gotten to see more of my favorite Grizz-guy, but you know, I don't really see him doing much as it is. I became intrigued and went to the Griz website, where I found a neat section that had pictures from every game they played this year. Much to my chagrin, Shane wasn't featured all that much. I send a message to you, Battier. If you want to remain on the roster- you gotta get in the game!!1. | .jpg) .jpg) .jpg) |

1st appearance |
Sarunas Jasikevicius #3 | Point Guard | Indiana Pacers
Height: 6-4 Weight: 195 Born: Mar 5, 1976 - Kaunas, Lithuania College: Maryland Draft: None
I tell you, trying to find pictures of attractive pacers actually looking attractive is hard feat. They're always contorting their faces into rather odd expressions, making my job of presenting them as attractive people all the more difficult. Still, Sarunas Jesikevicius (Saw-Roo-Nus Jes-ik- eh-vi-chus), or "Runey" as the local Indianapolis market has dubbed him is quite the fellow to look at, at least in my own humble opinion. Since he's a rookie this year, I don't really know too much about him, besides the fact that he would look good on my couch. With that in mind, I went to visit Pacers.com, where they are known to have tons and tons of clips of stuff you really didn't need to know about your favorite players (anyone remember that "Dinner with Jeff Foster clip"?). So, you can imagine my delight when I saw video entitled "60-seconds with Sarunas Jesikevicius," but unfortunately the evil Pacer dictators won't allow anoyne outside their inner circle to view the clip. ("This video feature is only available to fans in the
Pacers area"). I'm hoping that it works next time I go visit Funk. Until then, I will have to wait for Runey's second year to gather more info about him, but things are looking bright with him in the picture. | .jpg) .jpg) |

Beno Udrih #14 | Point Guard | San Antonio Spurs Height: 6-3 Weight: 205 Born: Jul 5, 1982 - Celje, Slovenia College: None Draft: 2004 - 1st round (28th pick) by the San Antonio Spurs
You know, one of the requirements that I have for being named on the AA Team is that you play a good amount of minutes. NO, I don't have a set requirement, but I would like to know that you actually play if you're gonna hold a spot in this prestigious roster. I think I may be cheating with Beno. Yahoo Sports tells me he averages 13 minutes a game, which is a little bit over a quarter, and yet I can't recall seeing him all that often on tv. On closer analysis though, that may be because I hardly ever tak the time to watch Spurs games. Still, you can't look at Beno and that he's not worthy to be an All Attractive. I mean, that would be a downright crime. Trust me, minutes aside, he can stand around and look good with the best of them! | .jpg) .jpg) .jpg) |

Check Out Sasha's stats
1st Appearance |
Sasha Vujacic #18 | Guard | Los Angeles Lakers Height: 6-7 Weight: 195 Born: Mar 8, 1984 - Maribor, Slovenia College: None Draft: 2004 - 1st round (27th pick) by the Los Angeles Lakers
"What?! A laker? on the AA Team? Why, I haven't been this outraged since Luke Walton made the cut on the 2nd team in 2004!" Hey, now calm down. This just goes to show that attractiveness transcends group affiliations. Man, what is it about young international players? Rounding out the last of our International Invasion is Sasha Vujacic, who is not, as you might infer from his first name, a girl, you ignorant ethnocentrists out there. I've actually had my eye on this guy since he first joined the league last year. Unfortunately, the Lakers didn't make the playoffs last year so I couldn't put... hmm, I really can't finish that sentence without feeling dirty. So long as Kobe's on the Lakers, it's tough for me to root for them. Vujacic is like the one speck of light in an otherwise bleak, depressing and ultimately, unwatchable team - or however close you can get to a 'team' when you have Kobe shooting for you. Either way, I can't imagine Bryant being a good influence on the kid. He'll be accused of rape by 2011. But in the mean time, let's bask in Sasha's attractiveness. | .jpg) .jpg) |

|
.jpg) Leondro Barbosa (G) Phoenix Suns 1st Appearance
Good God! Did you see this guy go on a tear against the Lakers in Game Seven? Now that's what I call a Man. |
Lebron James (F) Cleveland Cavaliers 1st Appearance
Here's one record Lebron won't be breaking: the youngest player to make it onto the All Attractive team. It's tough to not like Lebron, even when he's putting the final touches on your team, and even with all the hype that surrounds him, at least he's a nice guy and not a jerk about it. Is there a lesson to be learned? Well, do you see Kobe Bryant anywhere on these teams? |
Richard Jefferson (SF) New Jersey Nets 2004 AA 2nd Team
After a brief bout with death, Richard Jefferson has returned to the Nets - and the AA team, consequently. He does a appear to be a bit rusty so he's going to be on the second team this year, but his attractiveness has potential if he keeps it up. |
Andres Nocioni (F) Chicago Bulls 2005 AA 1st Team
Good lord! This guys an abundant source of energy- and hotness! Maybe there is something to that 'mere exposure effect', which states that we are more likely to find a person attractive if we are exposed to him repeatedly. Since Noche was EVERYWHERE in that Bull-Heat Series, it's no wonder he's on an AA team again. |
Raja Bell (G) Phoenix Suns 1st Appearance
Clotheslining a Laker got my attention. The fact that it was Kobe got him on the team. Stealing a page from the Piston's announcer, evertime Raja Bell scores, they ring... you guessed it, a Bell sound.
